Founded Oct 2004, Calpulli Tonalehqueh (CT) is an Azteca Mexica community based in San Jose, CA. The name is from the ancient Nahuatl language meaning the “community of guardians who accompany the Sun.” Calpulli Tonalehqueh’s mission is to provide a space where the community can practice the indigenous cultural traditions of Mexico, North America and the Western Hemisphere. They are also the host of the largest Azteca Mexica New Year in the nation. Everyone is invited to celebrate on the weekend of March 10-11, 2012 in San Jose, CA.
