VivaFest Free Community Concerts and Feria

Irene was born and raised in El Paso, she received her undergraduate degree from University of Texas at El Paso and her MBA from University of Phoenix. Irene has mentored teams and worked closely to create initiatives to enhance business success. Irene has dedicated her life to Healthcare having worked with Providence Memorial Hospital as the Chief Executive Officer, the Chief Operating Officer and the Chief Development Officer. Providence Hospital achieved National and local recognition for their Maternal, Oncology, Bariatric, Urology, Digestive Disease Center and the Children’s Hospital within the Hospital.

Ms. Chavez served Sierra Medical Hospital as the Chief Development Officer responsible for preparing the Strategic Business Plan that led to the development of the Cardiac and Neurosurgical Centers of Excellence, and El Paso Specialty Hospital, a physician joint ventured hospital, as their Chief Executive Officer.

Irene joined Advantage Care Network, a Third Party Administrator, as the President and Chief Executive Officer, creating the first local PPO network for self-funded employers. Irene also served at The University of Texas at El Paso’s Leadership Institute, in addition to strategically positioning the University’s Human Resources and Institutional Research departments for Tier 1 designation. Irene is currently with Kaiser Permanente San Jose as the Sr. Vice President Area Manager.

Irene serves on a number of boards including: San Jose Silicon Valley Chamber of Commerce, University of Texas El Paso College of Science and College of Education, CommUnity en Accion, and Latinas 100.

Irene and her husband Manny have been married for 37 years, they share their life’s blessings with their family and with their 4 pets. She is a member of the Audubon Society, enjoys hiking, traveling and reading.
