Music & Dance Workshops

September 13-14, 2012

The ¡VivaFest! Workshops are a three-day conference featuring workshops in Mariachi Music, Voice, and Ballet Folklórico Dance.

Music workshops will be taught by members of Mariachi Reyna de Los Angeles. Dance workshops will be taught by members of Los Lupeños de San Jose and by Maestro Ignacio Sanchez from Colima, Mexico.

All music and dance classes will be taught at multiple levels of instruction in order to meet the skill level of each student.

All Mariachi Musicians, Vocalists and Dancer Workshops will take place at The Tech Museumlocated at 201 South Market Street, San José, CA

Schedule

September 13th (Thursday)
7:30am-9:00am >> Workshop check-in & registration – The Tech Museum
8:30am–9:15am >> Orientation at New Venture Hall (ground level) – The Tech Museum – ALL PARTICIPANTS
9:15am-4:00pm >> First day of Workshop classes
8:00pm >> Student Showcase Concert

September 14th (Friday)
9:00am-4:00pm >> Second day of Workshop classes

Location

All Workshops on Thursday, September 13th and Friday, September 14th will be held at the The Tech Museum located at 201 South Market Street, San José, CA 95113.

The venue for the Saturday rehearsal will be announced during the workshops.

Special room rates are available at the Fairmont Hotel to Mariachi Festival Workshop participants and their families. When contacting the Fairmont, indicate you are ¡VivaFest! workshop participant to receive the special rate.
