Music & Dance Workshops

The ¡VivaFest! Workshops are a three-day conference featuring workshops in Mariachi Music, Voice, and Ballet Folklórico Dance.

All mariachi instrumental and vocal classes will be instructed and directed by members of world renowned Mariachi Cobre, direct from Walt Disney World.

Folklórico Dance workshops will feature instruction by admired instructors including maestro Rafael Zamarripa from the University of Colima, México.

All music and dance classes will be taught at multiple levels of instruction in order to meet the skill level of each student. In addition, students will enjoy uplifting performance opportunities at the Student Showcase Concert and the performance at the HP Pavilion.

September 22nd (Thursday)
7:30am-9:00am >> Workshop check-in & registration – The Tech Museum
8:30am–9:15am >> Orientation at New Venture Hall (ground level) – The Tech Museum – ALL PARTICIPANTS
9:15am-4:00pm >> First day of Workshop classes
8:00pm >> Student Showcase Concert

September 23rd (Friday)
9:00am-4:00pm >> Second day of Workshop classes

September 24th (Saturday)
Rehearsal (location TBA)

September 25th (Sunday)
7:00pm >> Once Upon A Time… A Mariachi Musical Performance

All Workshops on Thursday, September 22nd and Friday, September 23rd will be held at the The Tech Museum located at 201 South Market Street, San José, CA 95113.

The venue for the Saturday rehearsal will be announced during the workshops.

Special room rates are available at the Fairmont Hotel to Mariachi Festival Workshop participants and their families. When contacting the Fairmont, indicate you are ¡VivaFest! workshop participant to receive the special rate.
